Glysantin G40 coolant is an ethylene glycol-based coolant and antifreeze for use in the cooling circuits of water-cooled combustion engines. It is a so-called hybrid coolant with Si-OAT technology, also called HOAT coolant.

Glysantin G40 radiator antifreeze therefore contains silicates and organic additives at the same time. OAT stands for “Organic Acid Technology”, HOAT for “Hybrid Organic Acid Technology”.

Glysantin G40 corresponds to VW G12++ (TL-774-G)

The Glysantin G40 Standard, which many vehicle manufacturers use as a guideline for the release of a coolant in their vehicle models, can be translated directly into the system of G Standards of the Volkswagen VAG Group: The Glysantin G40 Standard corresponds to the VW G12++ Standard. The corresponding VW approval is the VW TL-774-G. Glysantin G40 can therefore be used in the following Volkswagen Group passenger cars:

• VW, Skoda, Seat passenger cars from production date September 2008
• Audi vehicles from August 2007
• Porsche from year of manufacture 2010

Please note that for most vehicles of the Volkswagen group with production date June 2018 and later a coolant according to the new VW release TL 774-L is required. This is supplied with Glysantin G65.

MB 325.6 approval – can be used for almost all Mercedes-Benz passenger cars

Glysantin G40 has received the Mercedes-Benz approvals MB 325.5 and MB 325.6 for corrosion protection agents. It can therefore be used as an alternative to the Mercedes-Benz OEM product, the corrosion/antifreeze agent MB 325.5/325.6. Since the widely used Mercedes-Benz approval MB 325.0 was replaced in May 2014 by the largely downward-compatible MB 325.6 approval, Glysantin G40 is thus suitable for use in almost all Mercedes-Benz models with passenger car engines. Before use, always check compatibility with your Mercedes engine using sheet 320.1 of the Mercedes-Benz operating instructions.

Glysantin G40 Ready Mix or concentrate?

The Glysantin G40 products are available as a practical Ready Mix or as a concentrate variant. While the Ready Mix is a coolant that has already been prepared for use and filling, the Glysantin G40 concentrate must be mixed with (distilled) water. The following mixing ratios are recommended:

• Mixing ratio 1:2 (30% Glysantin G40 + 70% water): Frost protection down to -20°C
• Mixing ratio 1:1.5 (40% Glysantin G40 + 60% water): Frost protection down to -27°C
• Mixing ratio 1:1 (50% Glysantin G40 + 50% water): Frost protection down to -40°C

Glysantin G40 coolant is free of nitrite, phosphate and borate.
